Prompt of the Month #8: May 2011

This month's prompt is a slight variation on the usual randomly-selected challenges, in honour of Elisabeth Sladen.

May 2011's prompt is 'Sarah Jane Smith'.

Some specific requests were made in the discussion post - please go there for any further details. These included:

  • derekmetaltron: Missing scenes from any point in Sarah's life.
  • john_amend_all: Tegan and Sarah meet again, after The Five Doctors.
  • persiflage_1: Highlander crossover, in which Sarah is an Immortal.
  • lost_spook: some of Sarah's solo-investigations pre-SJA (maybe involving other UNIT stalwarts).
  • azarsuerte: the Doctor taking Sarah to see those important moments in Luke's life she won't otherwise be there for.

Rules of the challenge
Fics can be as short or as long as you like. Please post wherever you wish but link back to this post via the comments (if short enough and you want, comment!fic is fine).

Bonus points for including as much of the original prompt as possible, but this is a free-for-all, so there is plenty of room for interpretation (e.g. same prompt, but variation of character etc.)

The challenge closes on Sunday 29th May.

I will post a reminder before then and there will be banners for all participants.

It might be as well to push the deadline out by a couple of days; the inmemoryofsjs reveal date is 1 June, so if we put our stories there, they wouldn't show up until then.
I hadn't realised. It's a bit later than I would have liked, but if it's helpful it's not really a problem.
I decided not to wait. It felt parsimonious to try and stretch one fic to cover two communities.
:-) I hope dw_straybunies gain is not the ficathon's loss.
Aww, you didn't include the octopus prompt? *sadface* ;-)

If I write the octopus prompt anyway, does it count? (I want to, I just don't know if I can come up with anything...)
All the Sarah prompts mentioned are included, and anything anyone wants to write. Octopi are more than welcome. I just didn't highlight anything from the discussion thread anyone might have found perhaps a little too humorous in the circumstances. But I pointed that way. Yay, octopus! :-)
